Inaugural post

Feral cats. A problem with no real answers yet.

I reserved this blog name a while back, because I wanted to create a forum of birders, cat-lovers, and cat-loving birders.

While I am decidedly biased in favor of the birds, I also have owned numerous cats in my day and I have loved them all.

What I want to do with this blog:
  • Establish a dialogue between birders, cat-owners, conservationists and all interested in the conundrum on our plate, called "the feral cat problem" or "outside cats" or whatever you wish to call it.
  • Maybe come up with some real solutions to the problem
Some see the solution as TNR programs (Trap, Neuter, Release). This 'solution' has many flaws, as it does not protect the cats from dying under the tires of cars, contracting disease from other cats, and it does not stop the cats from killing birds and other animals.

There are many, many facets to this situation. I hope to eventually get to all of them.

Let the games begin!

This is a tough topic for me, Susan, as I come down on all sides of this issue. I am a birder, a cat owner/lover, and a vet, and I cam see so many sides of it.

If you are looking to stir up controversy, you picked the right topic.

Stand back - this blog could be painful!

Sounds interesting.
I hope that, as tempting as it is to label cat-lovers as a group, we all recognize that there are individuals that see the big picture and work hard at being responsible to both.
I'm facing a lot of these questions right now myself--with a roomful of abandoned kittens I did not ask for.
All my animals are neutered, and cats are indoor family members.

As irritating as stray cats are, our anger can't be toward them--but those who are unwilling to be responsible.

Good luck with the project!

Hillbilly Toothpick is the term used for penis sizegenetics that have been removed and utilized for toothpicks or decoration (mainly on baseball and cowboy hats). Typically they've been the penis sizegenetics from raccoons. They aren't used much for toothpicks any longer, but this form of penis sizegenetics utilization can still be seen adorning people's hats.Sound crazy? Well, I guess that will depend on your point of view. What exactly are penis sizegenetics? That's a better question: Penis sizegenetics may be the sizegenetics that are found frightened mammals that will them create an sizegenetics.
